Hi, from Michael (konigi). Unicron is a personal knowledge system made of plain markdown files, with Claude as the engine. It can take your raw meeting transcripts and turn them into clean notes with actionable plans. Schedule it to run regularly and it will read your vault, write a daily brief and point you at the most important tasks. So you can start the day caught up and work on the things that matter.
This app isn't for everyone. It runs on Claude Code skills, so you'll need the Claude CLI installed. Notes in the vault (folder) are all plain text on disk. Nothing is locked in to a single system or LLM, so you can open them anywhere in any editor. Keeping your vault on a networked location like Dropbox or iCloud Drive makes your notes available on all your devices.
Open the app and you land on Today. Unicron reads the whole vault and writes you a brief with your top priorities, the threads you keep avoiding, what's still open, what's due. It gets you focused and saves you the time of digging through notes to plan the day.
The Library is where you read and write. It contains notes on people, areas, projects, meetings, and your journal. It can be the same folder other apps like Obsidian might open, so nothing's trapped. And Claude keeps the formatting tidy. You write the note and don't fight markdown to do it.
Some work doesn't fit in one note. A project gathers its meetings, tasks, and loose thinking into one place inside an area. A thread that runs for months stays together, where you can find it again.
Tasks hide inside notes you wrote weeks ago and forgot. Unicron pulls every open one into a single list and sorts it: yours, what you're waiting on from other people, and the threads by area. It's a real action list, so you don't have to keep a separate to-do app in sync.
The graph draws the whole vault as a map of linked notes. It's the fastest way to see what connects to what, and to find notes you may have forgotten.
Press ⌘N to add a meeting, task, project, journal entry, person, or area. Paste a raw transcript and Claude turns it into a clean note, filed where it belongs. Stray thoughts go to an inbox from your phone or a hotkey, and Unicron sorts them later. The vault stays organized while you keep moving.

They're plain markdown files on your Mac. There's no database and nothing that locks you in. Keep your vault on a synced folder like Dropbox or iCloud Drive and it's available on all your devices.
Yes. When you open your vault after an update, Unicron checks each skill it shipped against the copy in your vault. Files you never edited are updated in place, and any new skills are added. You don't do anything. No migration step, no dialog. This covers the skills and note templates the app ships with; documents like CLAUDE.md and your profile are yours, and the app never rewrites them.
Then it's yours and Unicron won't touch it. The app keeps a fingerprint of every version of every skill it has ever shipped. If your copy matches one of those, you never edited it and it's safe to update. If it doesn't match any of them, you changed it, and the app leaves it alone. There's no guessing involved. Edit freely, and know that your edited files simply stop receiving automatic updates.
Every file the sync updates is backed up first, one generation deep, at .claude/.kit-backup/ inside your vault. Copy the old version back and your copy now counts as customized, so future updates will leave it alone.
Your notes stay on your Mac. Unicron has no server of its own and never collects them. When you use an AI feature, the note content goes to Anthropic through the Claude CLI running under your own paid plan. I never see it. Read the Privacy Policy for the details.
